Who are eligible to apply Better?
Anyone with a regular income can apply at Better. Employees from organizations partnered with Better may also enjoy exclusive offers and benefits.
Which services are available at Better?
Retail (Buy Now Pay Later) service across a wide range of categories, including Electronics, Home Appliances and many other consumer products. Additional services may become accessible in the future based on your repayment history and loan performance.
What is the minimum device OS requirement to use the Better application?
The minimum device OS requirement is Android 7.0 and above, and iOS 15.1 and above. Please note that devices which are rooted or jailbroken, running in simulators, or installed from unofficial stores, may not be compatible with the application.
Registration, Sign Up, and Log In
How can I register at Better?
You can sign up for an account with any phone number during pre-registration for Level 1.
What is Level 1 account?
At the sign-up stage, the first step is Level 1 registration. With a Level 1 account, you can browse the app and access features with limited functionality. Registration for Level 1 is simple and can be completed using any phone number.
What is Level 2 account?
If you already have a Level 1 account, you can easily upgrade to Level 2. A Level 2 account provides full access to all features, including the ability to proceed with checkout and submit loan applications.
How can I upgrade to Level 2?
To upgrade your Better account to Level 2, the following information is required:
- Name
- NRC
- Wave Level 2 Verified Phone Number
- Email (Optional)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
Documents to upload:
- NRC Front and Back
- ID Selfie
Can I register the account with any phone number?
Any phone number is acceptable for Level 1 (pre‑registration stage), but a Wave Level 2 Verified Phone Number is required to upgrade to Level 2.
How can I know if my registration is successful?
We will verify your registration and provide approval or rejection within 30 minutes.
I forgot the password to log into my account. What can I do?
You can reset your password using your Level 2 registered phone number (if upgraded) by clicking the ‘Forgot Password?’ button on the Login page. After successful OTP verification, please enter your new password. If your Better account is still at Level 1, you can use your Better account Level 1 registered phone number to reset your password.
I have already upgraded to Level 2, but my account status is still pending. What does this mean?
We are currently reviewing your account information. Your status will be updated once our team completes the review process.
My Level 2 account has been rejected. What should I do next?
If your Better Level 2 account is rejected, you can view the reason and the information that needs to be updated in your Profile. Once the required updates are submitted, our team will review your application again.
What is Face ID Authentication and Fingerprint Authentication?
Facial authentication and fingerprint authentication are verification methods that allow users to securely access their account by using either facial features or fingerprint.
Applying a Loan
Where can I apply for loans?
Go to the Services page to explore all available services at Better. Select the Retail service to view the available products and apply for a loan.
Which documents are required to apply loans?
The required documents for loan applications may vary depending on the service type and user type. For Buy Now Pay Later, Address Information, Proof of Address, Household List, ID Selfie, and Guarantor Information are required.
What is Financing Plan?
The Financing Plan displays your monthly repayment amount and monthly income (required), based on your selected down payment (if any) and repayment period.
What is down payment?
A down payment is the initial amount of upfront payment toward the total purchase price of a loan. The remaining balance is usually financed through a loan plan.
Is there any administrative fee?
There is an administrative fee based on the services and loan amount. The admin fee needs to be paid before the collection of devices via WavePay, together with down payment and it will not be refundable.
What is repayment period?
The repayment period is the length of time agreed upon in a loan contract during the checkout process. The available repayment periods may vary depending on the services, loans, or products.
What is monthly income (required)?
Monthly income (required) refers to the minimum monthly earnings that must be provided in order to be eligible for a loan.
What is monthly repayment amount and total monthly repayment amount?
Monthly repayment amount refers to the fixed sum that must be paid each month toward a loan. The total monthly repayment amount refers to the aggregate sum of all monthly repayments across the entire loan period.
How can I apply if my income does not meet the required monthly income?
If your income does not meet the required amount, you may increase your down payment above the currently selected amount to improve eligibility.
What is ID selfie with NRC?
ID-Selfie is taking a selfie image of yourself holding your NRC near your face. Information on NRC must be clear and visible on the image.
What is Proof of Address (POA)?
Proof of address as known as POA is a recent official document that shows your current home address, such as utility bill or first page of bank book or apartment/home lease agreement.
How can I sign the loan agreement contract?
You can sign the agreement contract digitally via Better application while making an order.
What is digital signature?
A digital signature is a secure electronic mark that can be easily applied through electronic devices. It can be used to verify and confirm orders, and once the signature has been applied, it cannot be altered by others.
Is a guarantor required to apply loans at Better?
Yes, a guarantor is required to apply at Better and you need to provide guarantor information such as Name, NRC, WavePay Level 2 phone number and Address.
How can the guarantor sign the guarantor agreement contract?
After the application is submitted, the guarantor will receive an SMS link to the form. The guarantor must complete and sign the form within 24 hours; otherwise, you will need to provide a new guarantor.
Why do I need to give employee consent to link with my organization?
Consent allows HR to share employment information with Better for loan underwriting purposes. Without consent, the organization linkage process cannot be completed.
What is a signed contract?
A signed contract is a lease-to-buy agreement contract which you have signed. You can see it in your loan application check out page and respective loan details under 'Loans' tab.
Can I still apply the loan without providing the employee information and linking with my organization?
Yes, you can continue as a indivitual user without providing the employment information.
I am trying to link with an organization and provide my employee information at Better but I cannot find my current organization in the list. Why?
Only partnered organizations with Better are listed. If your organization is not on Better, you can continue as a Individual User.
How can I know my application status?
You can check all your loan statuses on the 'Loan' Page in the application.
How can I collect the products?
For Buy Now Pay Later products, you can collect your item at the merchant store selected during the ordering process. Please bring your original NRC and a copy for verification. Make sure to collect the item within 3 days after the order status is updated to Ready for pick up.
Can I cancel my loan?
You have the right to cancel the loan before making the down payment by selecting ‘Cancel Loan’ in the loan details and providing a cancellation reason.
I have active orders; can I make a new order?
If your monthly income is sufficient to cover the repayments for new loans, you may apply for another one. However, Better reserves the right to determine loan eligibility through its underwriting process.
What is an Individual user?
An individual user refers to someone who has not linked their account with any organization and has not provided employee information.
Can I order 2 or more products in one loan?
You cannot place two or more products in a single loan, but you may purchase them through separate loans if your monthly income is sufficient to qualify for more loans.
Can I cancel my Active loan?
Please contact to our Better hotline phone number 09949BETTER or 09949238837 if you would like to cancel the order.
What happens after I have collected product?
Once you have collected the product, the loan becomes active and the repayment schedule begins.
Who owns the products until my repayment plan is completed?
It remains the property of Better until the final monthly repayment and any other outstanding amount including late payment fees are paid.
Merchant Information
Where can I check the merchant details?
The merchant name will be displayed when you enter to a product details, and by clicking 'Visit Store', you can see all products offered by that merchant along with their information, including branch details.
Information Update
How can I update my personal information, employment information?
You can submit a request through Request to Update at Profile section of the account. If the information you provide is valid and Better accepts it, your request will be updated.
What are the Additional information and how can I update?
Additional information refers to supplementary details about you that help us know more about you and may be beneficial for future offers. If you would like to update this information, you can do so in the Profile section of your account.
Repayments
How can I make monthly repayment amount?
To make your monthly repayments, go to the 'Payment' page. Under the 'Outstanding' tab, you can view your overdue outstanding amount and upcoming outstanding repayment amounts, then complete the payment with Wave.
How can I make down payment?
To make down payment, go to the 'Payment' page. Under the 'Outstanding' tab, you can view your down payment amount, then complete the payment with Wave.
What if my monthly repayment is overdue?
If your monthly repayment is overdue, the repayment amount will be automatically deducted from the Wave Level 2 Verified Phone Number you provided during registration with Better.
What if my WavePay account does not have enough balance on the repayment date?
We will deduct the available amount from your WavePay account. If the repayment is unsuccessful on the due date, late payment penalty charges may apply based on the number of overdue days.
How will penalty charges be calculated?
A late fee of MMK xxxx will be charged per day and will be calculated based on the number of overdue days.
What will happen if I want to repay all the outstanding amount early?
You may repay your full outstanding amount early at any time without any additional fees. However, there will be no reduction or adjustment to the lease fees for early repayment.
To make the early repayment, go to the 'Payment' page, open the 'Early Repayment' tab, complete the payment with Wave.
